Ever thought about all the snacks hanging around your workspace all day? I’m talking about the snacks that end up hurting your diet and routine more than you might think in the moment, I’m talking about that leftover pizza from the meeting at 12, or the delicious donuts sitting by your work area, oh, and all the candy sitting by every corner or desk.
I know it can be hard to avoid all those snacks around you, especially when you aren’t having a good day and all you want to do is snack. So here it is, the healthier snacks you have at your office the less candy, pizza, donuts and any other bad snacks you’ll eat.
Don’t forget…everything in life is about moderation. Just because you have a bag of healthy mixed nuts at your desk doesn’t mean you can eat all in one sitting.
Check out these amazing snacks that might help you stay away from the pizza, donuts, candy around you 🙂
- Health Warrior Chia Bars
These are my favorite snacks! I buy them in bulk from Amazon (HERE). They’re my number one, grab-and-go, snacks. They’re a good source of omega-3 and taste delicious.
- Mixed nuts
Nuts are one of the best snacks you can have. They are also the easiest to carry around because you don’t have to keep refrigerated, just prep five snack bags and throw them in your purse/work bag for the week. Nuts are a good source of fiber, protein, and healthy fat, which is everything you should look for in a snack. Be careful with your choices though, you might find yourself eating a bag full of salted nuts that might end up hurting you in the end. Go for the raw nuts, no added salt or sugar or anything of that sort. You should also only have a handful of nuts per serving.
My favorite mixed nuts:
- Raw almonds
- Raw cashews
- Raw pistachios ( even though I was obsessed with salted pistachios)
- Buy it bulk, from Amazon (here)
- Fruit
The only fruits I eat are berries because they are full of antioxidants and high in fiber. They also help you recover and get back to it (the gym, I mean)! Eat berries in the morning with your plain Greek yogurt or with your oatmeal. You can also have berries as a later afternoon snack or a post-workout snack.
I usually get a small bag of organic blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries and mix them up throughout the week.
- Celery sticks with humus
Again, it’s all about moderation so you should only be packing a small container of humus and a snack bag of celery sticks. I usually get the Sabra Classic humus from wholefoods, but I only pack about ¼ cup of original humor or red bell pepper humus.
- RX Bars
Two words: real food. These bars are a simple way to satisfy your appetite in the afternoon. They are made from real food and there are no hidden ingredients. One thing is for sure, they fill you up! So you won’t be craving all the other snacks around you.
You can purchase them from Amazon – I usually get the variety pack: Check it out HERE
